GMTKonnevesi
Workshop on GMT, PDEs, and harmonic analysis

When: 29 June - 3 July 2026
Where: Konnevesi Research Station, close to Jyväskylä, Finland
Organizers: Damian Dąbrowski, Tuomas Orponen, Michele Villa
About the workshop
GMTKonnevesi will be a small workshop aimed at early career researchers working in geometric measure theory and related fields. The main point is to meet new people and kick-start a new project or two. The workshop will mostly consist of work in small groups, along with a few workshop-wide activities. There will also be a (remote) preparatory stage.
Workshop preparation
- until 12 April: proposing problems. To propose a problem, fill the problem-template.tex and send it to ddabrowski@impan.pl by 12 April. Here is an example problem.
- 13 April - 3 May: reading the proposed problems and expressing interest in your favorites
- sometime between 4 and 15 May: a videocall where we finalize our choices and divide into small groups
- 16 May - 28 June: preparing for the workshop within small groups, the way you see fit (reading papers, preliminary work, videocalls…)
- 29 June: workshop begins!
Of course the small groups may choose to change their problem(s) at any moment, and it’s also always possible to switch groups.
Getting there
We’ll organize a bus from Jyväskylä for the evening of 28 June, so you only need to take care of your transportation to Jyväskylä. The most convenient way is flying to Helsinki and then taking a train to Jyväskylä. The train ride takes about 3 hours, and the trains are fairly frequent. There are also some flights between Helsinki and Jyväskylä. The return bus from Konnevesi to Jyväskylä will be on 4 July in the morning.
